Ghanaian top shot Method Ranking is set to release a new single titled ‘ODO’, meaning love on Valentine’s Day to spice up the celebration of the occasion on 14th February around the country and worldwide. The Ghanaian dancehall act has maintained his presence for almost two decades in an industry described by some as a ‘hot turf’ with his quick-witted rhymes sometimes in a fiery Jamaican accent and often times in a cool solemn medley.
Method Ranking show his prowess and lyrical versatility on the new single, which he described as a Valentine gift to the ladies in an interview with RKMG publicist Zayabingi. It is purely a love tune, he tells Zayabingi.
Produced by Draq of Livingstone Studio and published by RKMG, ODO strikes an immediate dance chord with the listener. He urges his fans to embrace love in the years ahead and love one another. He juggles the verses masterfully and engages the listener with his deep smooth voice, an asset that has marketed most Ghanaian musicians successfully on the international stage.
He also describes ODO as an advice to women to be faithful in their relationship, stop the lies and learn to focus on their men with all the care and tenderness.
Method Ranking has among his repertoire, some singles that made waves back in the days when he was on top of his game before he paused his music career to pursue his education at the Regional Maritime University in Ghana. Some of his singles include tracks such as Pampam , Holy , Born Again, Gyal Nice. He featured Ghanaian Afrobeat rapper and hitmaker Edem who was his schoolmate in high school, and internationally acclaimed dancehall superstar Stonebwoy who is a brother to him, in My Girl and Wyne up urself respectively.
“My talent is to inspire, and as a gift from God I find it important to use my talent to preach love and liberate the masses. The industry is full of envy and jealousy, but I believe what we need is love. After years of hiatus from music I’m back to make good use of my talent and this time my focus is to keep working, Currently my works are published by RKMG and I’m happy with the team”, he told publicist Zayabingi.
He said the Covid-19 pandemic has disrupted production and his activities largely to the extent where he and his team are incapable of travelling to play shows around the world as they had planned.
Nonetheless, he promises his fan more top ranking tunes currently under production. He says he is ready for the industry and very hopeful that with the right channels and management he will reach the ultimate limelight soon.
ODO will be released on Val’s Day and Method Ranking urges his fans and all music lovers to listen and share his music to the world.
